A California woman has sued Lyft after she was seriously harmed in an accident. The accident occurred in February in Fullterton. The woman had enjoyed a night out with friends and was waiting for a ride on a crowded sidewalk when, according to police, a drunk driver slammed into the crowd.
The woman was pinned underneath the driver’s truck as friends and strangers tried to help her. She suffered eight broken ribs and shattered her pelvis. She can barely stand and hopes to walk again.
The woman claims that Lyft is partially responsible for the accident. On the night of the accident, the drunk driver turned onto a street in front of a bar where Lyft drivers were illegally parked. A sign across the street from where the crash occurred identifies a designating ride-share waiting area, which the Lyft drivers ignored. The victim has over $1 million in medical bills and they are still rising. Unfortunately, rideshare drivers frequently take shortcuts in an effort to earn more money from more passengers.
