Iain Hill

Associate Attorney

Experience & Background

Iain Hill is a litigation attorney who represents individuals and families whose lives have been altered by catastrophic injury, medical neglect, or institutional failure. His practice includes cases involving traumatic brain and spinal-cord injuries, limb loss, and insurance bad faith.

Before joining Doyle Law, Iain practiced complex intellectual-property litigation for corporate clients. That experience built the analytical precision and procedural discipline he now applies to developing liability theories in multifaceted cases involving intersecting governmental and private negligence, regulatory breaches, and systemic safety breakdowns.

Before entering law, Iain spent nearly a decade in emergency and rehabilitative medicine, including service as an EMT and involvement in the spinal-cord rehabilitation program at Saint Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. Working directly with patients adapting to permanent injuries gave him a practical understanding of recovery, resilience, and the long-term effects of serious trauma.

Iain’s transition from patent litigation to plaintiff’s trial work was shaped by personal experience. During law school, his younger brother was killed in a helicopter crash—a preventable tragedy driven by cascading corporate and individual negligence. Months later, Iain contracted hepatitis A from contaminated food and was hospitalized with impending liver failure after physicians misrepresented their ability to diagnose and failed to identify the cause. These experiences deepened his commitment to confronting preventable harm and institutional indifference through litigation.

He later volunteered with the Oregon Medical Reserve Corps in 2020, assisting with COVID-19 field testing in underserved communities after his law school closed for pandemic control. Earlier, he interned with the Washoe County Public Defender’s Office in Reno, Nevada, gaining courtroom and motion-practice experience while advocating for indigent defendants.
